Some unreasonable amount of effort has gone into making every moment of nothing last as long as possible. The feedback for action is terrible. The controls are incredibly unintuitive. The game seems to offer depth in the form of deep understanding through observation. It fails to deliver even in the slightest. The only really good aspect I can find is the occasional cool visual. I highly doubt the game developers even played this game all the way through. This game does not deliver any sort intentionally crafted experience. It is a hodge podge of boring tech demos that can only amount to boring you to death for a short playtime and high price. Digital Dreams has failed in delivering even the vaguest resemblence of a quality gaming experience. This game is not worth its asking price.. Fun conceptCan't create new game even uninstalled.. The puzzle's are pretty cool in this game! They always feel fresh, and unique. There is no tutorial, it relies on your intuition to figure everything out, and at least for me, the game spoke to my intuition intimately!Was definitely worth the Humble Bundle price I paid.. This is a beautifully designed game with tons of simple, but clever ideas.It's a very nice mix of conventional gameplay and out of the box ideas. It's really worth checking out.. I was interested when I noticed this game and got it with the monthly bundle. Must say I enjoyed it for 10 mins. Its not thats it not interesting or anything its just not my style. It neat but not worth 14$.. Metrico's puzzles are fun, except when they're not. A few times you will undoubtedly spend more time trying to figure out the mechanics of the puzzle than decipher it. What's more concerning is that the game never says anything about its art style. The game could have tried to say something about infographics and a measured world. Instead, it just throws some vague between puzzle art at you and concludes ham-fistedly that numbers make us machines. This is a solid game but giving it a thumbs down as a missed opportunity, and one in which a few too many of the puzzles had me guessing at how the mechanics had changed from puzzle to puzzle, rather than puzzling over how to solve.. I am become mathematician, the destroyer of mathematical problems.. Wouldn't call it super unique or revolutionary, but it's a cute puzzle platformer that doesn't outstay its welcome.. Some really fresh puzzle ideas with an unique look and sound.. Sorry...while I really like abstract/minimalistic games, metrico+ really isn't up to par to games like antichamber, 140, osmos, ellipsis, super hexagon, hexcells, expand, lyne or linea: the game. What these games (and metrico+) have in common is that they attempt to tell a story without using words ("show, don't tell"). If you ask me...metrico fails in this aspect. You have a relatively detailed character, backgrounds that range from pyramids to mathematics, razors you have to shoot, divinity pieces...each of these items could work well on their own, but they don't enhace each other's presence. As such, I have to conclude that the story (even though it doesn't use words) is either needlessly convoluted, doesn't make sense, or even misunderstood by the developers to begin with.Okay...but what about the gameplay? I got to admit that at first I was very intrigued: the classic running&jumping was twharted by platforms that moved based on your moves. How should you reach a platform that raises as you come near? How do you balance multiple platforms so you can jump on them while the very act of moving to (and jumping on) platforms influences their movement? Later, the restart points take an important role in this as well.Unfortunately, the elegance gets lost once you get a shooting option (again: forget about a "why". You just get it). Suddenly there are enemies, and while the puzzle aspect isn't lost, the games shifts into more of a platformer. And while I do like platformers, the pace and impact just aren't set correctly.The price doesn't help either. I got this in a humble bundle, so I can't complain. But in the steam abstract section, this is the highest priced abstract game after antichamber. And that game is so much better it's not even fair to metrico+. Basically: I especially can't recommend this at full price. And even then, I'd advice other games over this one. Sorry... :(
