The game begins with the death of a wealthy businessman and leaves you to investigate the scene. The game will then take you to multiple connected locations as you attempts to piece together the murder and uncover the assassin and the motive for the murder. The game is set over 5 days of investigations and each day will have you visit a location and search it for clues and solve one or two puzzles with ranging difficulties (some puzzles were quite hard and confusing), at the end of each day you will summarise your findings in a quiz, which for me was probably the hardest part of the game. I found the story to be quite engaging and interesting overall with a good range of characters and locations and was well suited to a Sherlock story. Overall 'Sherlock Holmes: The Silver Earring' was a good solid adventure game which presented a well written story and some good puzzles, taking around 9 - 10 hours to complete and with a very conclusive ending I would highly recommend it for adventure game enthusiasts. 8.5\/10. Whoa, this game is horrible. This is just slightly better than its prequel. Controls are still ♥♥♥♥ed up, voice acting is still terrible, graphics are irrelevant for this kind of game, but it still bugs me how bad this game was made overall. Bad programming at its best.I had to force myself through this game, through this torture, just for the sake of the plot which wasn't even that good. I started Frogware's Sherlock Holmes series in chronological order of the games. At this time, this is the first game in the game's timeline but was the second one made.This game is strides ahead of the first game Mystery of the Mummy. But there are concepts not perfectly implimented, but the entire experiance is enjoyable and able to get running without external software. The graphics are old but you get immerse once you get into the rythem. The entire case is really all over the place and only begin to link up at the end of the game. I suggest you take real life notes while playing it because the game has some confusing notes specificly about individuals which you need to know by your own deduction at the final "quiz". Overall the game is a bit clunky but I actually had alot of fun. This is definately a point and click adventure game, but definately a true mystery case. I think this fits so well that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle could have written this story himself. I say give it a try if you want the complete Sherlock Holme's Adventure Game experiance.. The game itself is good, the last part of the end mission is bugged. Impossible to get through it, i looked up on youtube a walk through and more had the same problem. Im talking about the dog part of the last mission, totally impossible to get past... But other than that, its as good as the other newer Sherlock Holmes games.. And the game doesn't have a good system to track everything together.- Gameplay elements are inconsistent. Sometimes actions require you to click on an object in the gameworld, sometimes you need to click the same object in inventory, or drag-and-drop two objects on top of each other, sometimes you need to use magnifying glass, sometimes you don't. It's a bit confusing.- Crashes - There are few places that cause the game to crash consistently, loosing all your progress since the last save.- Spot the dot - In some areas you literally need to find one small spec in one big room. - Font in messages/books is unreadable ! Overall, there isn't really anything special about this, I would suggest trying newer games in the series, they are much more streamlined.
